LDAP Plugins for qpsmtpd

Background

While qpsmtpd has wonderful features LDAP support is not very developed. Ideally it should be possible to support most features with LDAP integration as well. That is what we will try to address through our project.

Project Details

We will implement the following features with LDAP support:

• LDAP-based mail routing to other SMTP servers

• Recipient and sender checks based on LDAP information
• Mail size restrictions for both incoming and outgoing mails
• DomainKeys? support with keys stored in LDAP
• Recipient blacklisting and whitelisting with LDAP storage
• SMTP authentication and sender checking using LDAP

It should be possible to use qpsmtpd as a drop-in replacement for the qmail-smtpd that ships with qmail-ldap. Additionally, we will add features to improve the value that the SMTP server can provide.
